Shunpike commissioned me to produce 6 videos that spotlight some of the artists and programs they support. Shunpike empowers artists through equitable access to vital expertise, opportunities, and business services. Shunpike envisions a community where artists thrive, creatively and economically, and where their work is valued as fundamental to the wellbeing of Washington State.

Puckduction

Puckduction is a queer and POC owned performing arts production company based in Seattle, WA.

UpNUp Podcast

The UpNUp Podcast is centered around cultivating culture through storytelling, by producing/documenting the journeys of individuals/visionaries who have built a lane for themselves in their respective professions/ventures/practices, and broadcasting these stories to the BIPOC community/members of the greater-Seattle area.

Grace Athena Flott

Grace Athena Flott is a realist painter fascinated by the myth of normalcy and social constructions of health, beauty, and gender.

Mägi Ensemble

Led by Heather MacLaughlin Garbes, the ensemble’s focus on Baltic music stems from the strong relationship between the choral and the Baltic studies departments at the University of Washington and an interest in the power of music to unite people and preserve cultural heritage.

Seattle Storefronts

Shunpike’s Storefronts Program is a public art exhibition and pop-up program that came about in the wake of the 2008 economic downturn. Since then, Storefronts South Lake Union has evolved into an ongoing temporary public art partnership with Amazon, hosting 16 artists’ works a year.

Shunpike's 2+U Studio

The 2+U Studio is a dedicated 1,100 sq. ft. workshop, rehearsal, and presentation space at 2+U, in downtown Seattle. The Studio is created with underserved creative communities in mind, those most affected by gentrification and displacement, and is available at no cost to selected musical and movement artists.
